Happy Valentine's Day - Sharing the love, from Lily Ella to you! | Lily Ella
Valentine’s Day thoughts from Lily Ella!
Yes, we know, here at Lily Ella we’re probably a little long in the tooth to be getting excited about Valentine’s Day. However, we’re definitely young at heart so we’d like to wish all our customers a Happy Valentine’s Day anyway!
What better excuse is there to treat yourself or someone else to some uplifting flowers during these somewhat dank February days? Who doesn’t love a wonderful bunch of flowers? We’re loving the designer flowers ‘in a box’ postal services we’ve seen popping on the internet – great when you want to send a delightful box of loveliness to someone special. A few of us at Lily Ella have trialled Bloom and Wild and the flowers have been great, find them here:
We admit to having a soft spot for spectacular London florist McQueens. They first came to our attention years ago when we saw their amazing flowers being delivered for a shoot in the studio next to the one, we were shooting the Lily Ella Collection in. Since then we’ve followed their blogs and Instagram account just for the sheer pleasure of seeing their splendiferous floral offerings!
Here are some of the lovely Valentine’s day flowers they’ve designed this year.
McQueens regularly run one day workshops, so if you ever fancy an indulgent creative treat with a difference, signing up to one of these could be just the thing. Find their upcoming Spring workshops (and other floristry courses) here:

Of course, we can’t let Valentine’s Day go by without mentioning chocolates and we’d like to make a special shout out to a very special chocolatier who we think is up there with the best of them (and there are quite a few chocoholic experts at Lily Ella!).
Jane Davenport is based up here in the north east, her workshop is in Gateshead. She is a fully trained chocolatier and her taste is sublime. In her workshop her mini conveyor belt conveys hand-made chocolates of exquisite flavours and texture. They’re not off the wall, fancy, ‘on trend’ flavours, they’re just perfect, delicious and ‘right’ every time. Each chocolate is a taste sensation and we can wholeheartedly recommend them. Her boxes are beautifully packaged, so they make the perfect, easy gift.
Davenports are a small independent producer so stockists are few and far between nationally, but you can use her online service and enjoy Jane’s chocolates just like we can! As well as boxes, Jane also supplies wedding favours and chocolates for special occasions and even creates bespoke flavours on request.

Whilst we’re thinking romance and red themes, we’ve got some cheerful red pieces in our new Lily Ella Spring Collection which you might enjoy wearing to brighten up these February days. For a lunch date or evening out (or if romance isn’t on your mind, well, it’s a fabulous choice for a smart work day outfit too) our particular favourite is our chic, eye-catching red and white Talin Dress. It’s made in our favourite stretch viscose fabric with flowers traced in white on a stunning red base.
But don’t worry, if a Lily Ella dress isn’t the look you’re after, there’s also the matching Talin Top in the same fabulous red fabric. This works brilliantly with lots of our trousers.
For a really cheerful piece of outerwear you can’t go wrong with our lovely red Becky Raincoat – it’s showerproof too, just what we all need in this weather!
For a casual and cosy look, wear it over our sporty red Marion sweater and your favourite Lily Ella jeans.
So that’s Valentine’s Day all wrapped up for another year, but you can enjoy rosy red flowers, delicious chocolates and our beautiful Lily Ella pieces all year round, so go on, treat yourself. Shoot an arrow all the way to Lily Ella with your order and we’ll send you your heart’s desire!
